The Pens just resigned Chris "Hands of a Baby's Bottom" Kunitz to a two-year contract extension worth $3.725 million/year. Kunitz was scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season, so locking him up now means that Shero won't have to compete with the 8-year/$80 million offer Kunitz was likely to get from Florida or Philadelphia. It's a fair amount of money for a guy who scores 20-25 goals, and you could even argue that it's a bargain. After all, you can't put a price on those hands.
Used a fur pen to sign the contract. |
