Week 18: Pageant of the Transmundane

A six year old girl was pulled over by the police as she drove her mother around because she was sleepy. When asked by an officer if her mother had been smoking the stinky stuff, the girl answered in the affirmative. Meanwhile, a South African internet company made a real publicity statement when it proved that sending 4 GB of data via carrier pigeon over 50 miles was faster than the leading ISP's broadband speed (by my calculation, it was 25 times faster). Yes, they are two unrelated items, but they do seem to go well together... at least I think so.

This week's winning entry comes from the amazing Mayren Abashed, who discovered a wicked awesome World of Warcraft meeting the Muppets kind of parody that transcends mundanity at supersonic speeds.

So it seems only appropriate to commemorate this win with an image from the Neverquest section of The Simpsons Game. I think that is as close as I can get to having The Simpsons and the world of MMORPG's coexist without bringing up the Black Knight.

Congrats Mayren. Here is your badge.

The rules of this little contest: Every week I will be selecting one blog post that I have seen from the vast reaches of the blogosphere to bestow with the Homer Simpson Transmundanity Award for being one of the freakiest(in a funny way) things I've seen or read during a 7 day period. It doesn't necessarily have to have been written during the week, I just had to have encountered it. That means that if you find something interesting and repost it like a movie or whatever, if I saw it at your blog first, you get the prize. Of course, creating your own content is also a very good way to win.

Now, if you see a post that you think is worthy of this illustrious prize, just drop me a line at campybeaver@gmail.com and we'll see if we can't get your suggestion up and award-ready while giving you some credit and a link to your own blog.
