Zombie Pinups does none of those things, but dammit, it is still great fun.
The premise of the site is this: take the glamor of 1940's and 50's pinup girl pictures and add the coolness of the models being made up to look like zombies.
Now, I am not talking about them dabbing a bit of makeup over their faces to make them look a little green... no, in a lot of cases, the effect they went for was mottled, bubbly rotted flesh.
My question is how did the founders of this site come up with the combination of carnal lust and hunger for human flesh. I mean, it seems like such a niche market. And yet, for some strange reason it all works.
But the thing that makes it really pop for me is that while the initial models were all shot and made up by the site owners, over the past year or so, they've accepted submissions from outside models/photographers and held events so that they've cultivate a community around this very odd subculture.
Anyway, I just thought this was something so odd I had to share it with the rest of you.
