The Penguins today recalled forwards Ryan Craig, Nick Johnson, Brett Sterling, and Joe Vitale from Wilkes-Barre, leading Finesse to remark, "Maybe the goal is to send the Kings coaching staff on a fruitless mission to find tape of Joe Vitale so they can gameplan." Really, we're scratching our heads over this one. Why send down Eric Tangradi yesterday? The Big Dog was playing well. It seems unlikely - actually, I'm upgrading that to impossible - that replacing him with Vitale makes the Pens a better team tonight. Is something else afoot? Is Joe Vitale being showcased for a trade? Isn't it better to just maintain the mystery of Joe Vitale, thereby letting his legend grow?
