I Facepalm Over Texting And Driving

You know when you aren't involved in something crazy, looking at people who are doing that thing from outside that bubble is stunning.

The reason I bring that up is because 20/20 did a report on people texting while driving.

And I really don't understand why someone would need to text while they are driving.

I mean, in my mind, when you are controlling a multi-ton vehicle, I think the last thing you should be doing is trying to keep up with a conversation with your thumb.

Because what can be so important that you are willing to threaten your life and the life of others. If you are Jack Bauer and Chloe is sending you the current address the terrorists are using, then I can forgive you, but other than that... yeah, you have to stop.

I love the internet... I love getting emails and Twitter responses, but I know there is a time and a place for checking those things. Behind the wheel doesn't fit either of those criteria.

I hate the fact that I am now on Oprah's side about something, but yeah, texting while driving seems pretty assinine.
