July is the worst sports month of the year, and it isn't even close. There isn't even anything good on regular TV. And look at the front page of ESPN.com ...it's a video of John Kruk talking about Jair Jurrjens. We've heard the name, but if he came into GTOG headquarters and said, "Hi, I'm Jair Jurrjens" we'd say, "wait, GTOG has a headquarters?"
In the face of this paucity of material, here are links to two people who rip apart a recent Ted Leonsis blog post about "accountability" in on-line journalism/blogging that is is riddled with factual and logical errors.
- Mr. Irrelevant. They even have a "Tweak the Ted" feature. Consider it bookmarked.
- Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post on Twitter. The man does God's work.
"I won't make excuses. But..." |
Poking the cuddly and petty bear that is Ted Leonsis never gets old, if only because Leonsis won't let it. The man can't let any slight go or let any excuse go unmade. Contrast that with Mario Lemieux who, when everyone was calling him a hypocrite last year, turned off his BlackBerry iPhone and went golfing.
We're not bitter. There's just nothing to talk about.
Go Pirates.
