Game Show Garbage goes for the really low-hanging fruit with an endless trashing of GSN's crime against humanity, Extreme Gong.
Of course, no defense is possible for the disgrace that was E.G. But come on, guys, this is getting too, too easy. We already know that Extreme Gong stunk, sucked, smelled and stenched (is that a word?) Don't you have anything else for us?
Well, as a matter of fact, they do. The Game Show Garbage gang actually criticizes Extreme Gong for one of its tiny redeeming features, the show's frequent slams on alt.tv.game-shows. If any Usenet group deserved a good dump or four, it was al.tv.g-s. (I should know, I was one of the group's misguided contributors.)
The GSG crowd also doesn't like Babe of the Day, who was at least decent eye candy. And they unload the entire dictionary of invective on producer Scott Sternberg, to the point where I feel a little sorry for guy. Which is something I don't want to do.
Finally, sorry for the heresy, but the original Gong Show wasn't all that great, either. The GSG folks should just have admitted it before crushing the horrendous remake.
