Ratings: syndies generally brighten up

The top three syndicated game shows all had a decent week for October 8-14. But the news was less swell for the bottom two. We're getting into peak viewing season for TV shows of all kinds. TVNewsCheck brings the numbers for one and all...

Wheel of Fortune 6.5 - up a tick and second only to Judge Judy in household ratings
Jeopardy 5.8 - up a couple ticks
Family Feud 4.2 - up a tick to tie its season high
Millionaire 2.1 - flat
Baggage 1.0 - down a tick for poor Jerry

TV by the Numbers says that Wheel of Fortune was tops in total viewers among all syndies, even ahead of the loudmouth judge. The viewership averages for the top three: Wheel of Fortune 10.0 million, Jeopardy 8.6 million, Family Feud 6.2 million. Very decent numbers all round.

TVNewser's weekly cable ranker reveals that GSN's ratings continue to fall back to earth after the heavenly lift from the Bible quizzer. The network averaged 329K/223K viewers prime time/total day for the week of October 15-21, ranking 41st and 42nd in the windows. Not terrible but a definite comedown from a few weeks ago.
