But just in case you were worried, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy have been re-upped by the ABC owned and operated stations through the 2015-2016 season. Alex and Pat and Vanna had already signed on for those seasons, so station renewals have become pretty much a formality.
Sure, the Scripps stations recently rebelled over the shows' increasing cost and tried their own homegrown programming. But syndication's ageless duo easily found other stations to carry them in the affected markets.
Once upon a time, though it's very hard to believe, these shows didn't exist at all. And at some distant time in some distant galaxy, there won't exist any more. But for now they just keep rolling along like the old man river of syndication. It's hard to imagine the TV world without them. What would I put in my weekly ratings updates?
