Wannabe game show star

A faux tweet referred to a funny story by Canada's Mireille Silcoff. She happens to be married to the new Match Game's producer Michael Kronish. Naturally, she fantasizes about a starring role on the show.

Reality intervenes, much to her slightly bemused annoyance. The husband supposedly tells her: "I just don't have a chair for an overthinking bookish type who goes over every sentence with a thesaurus." Somehow I doubt the absolute authenticity of that quote, but a producer knows salable comic talent when he sees it.

Meanwhile, I have to confess to the same fantasy. What if I was a star on a game show, or just about any kind of show? Then I look in the mirror - you can check my photo on this blog - and the fantasy dies a quick but painful death.

Still, it would be nice to get into People magazine with my hot new show, instead of splattering phosphors on a mostly ignored corner of the Internet. But I wouldn't bet on either Mireille or moi enjoying the big break any time soon.
